Sometimes the simplest things have the biggest impact - a simple song can deliver a blow in the face, making the owner of it wondering what it was that just hit them. After having written many a complex tune for projects such as The Exit Wound, the founder of punk outfit Varsa felt it would be fun to try something completely different: short, rather straight songs that deliver a simple message.
That message, the central theme of the debut EP is how some people tend to just go with the flow yet get stuck at a certain stage in their lives and how it is not right: you are supposed to make your own choices and move ahead, from strength to strength.
What makes this project also unique in the Abran catalogue is the usage of Hungarian lyrics - all four original songs were penned in Hungarian, the only track with English lyrics being a cover of Six Feet Deep’s 100% that was a hidden track on their debut CD Struggle.
As appropriate for the style, the EP is released on limited edition cassette tapes. Get a walkman, pop it in and get punched in the face.
