Artists often get inspired by nature, looking down from a hilltop, wandering around in the woods, sitting in a boat on a calm lake, etc. Can artificial industrial sites have the same effect on a musician? Mindself is proof that indeed they can.
Mindself came to life in its founders mind during a visit to a lake next to an old, defunct power plant. The sight of the old industrial set inspired a few guitar riffs that led to the creation of an industrial metal project. One idea came after the other and the Template Soul EP took shape fairly quickly.
The five songs offer diversity in speed and mood but the crunching guitars and sound samples are common in all of them.
